Managing shipping workflows is a crucial part of any print shop’s order process. With this new update, InfoFlo Print introduces Shipping Option Visibility Controls and a powerful Required Shipping Option setting for customer orders. These improvements give print shops more flexibility, better organization, and stronger control over how shipping choices appear across internal screens and the customer portal.

Whether you want to keep internal shipping methods hidden from customers or ensure customers always select a valid shipping option before placing an order, this update streamlines both your workflow and your customers’ ordering experience.

1. What’s New in Shipping Option Visibility

Shipping options in InfoFlo Print can now be displayed exactly where you need them. This enhancement allows you to:

  • Show shipping options internally only

  • Show shipping options to customers only

  • Show shipping options to both areas (default)

This improvement ensures customers see only the shipping options intended for them, while internal staff can continue using specialized in-house options without clutter or confusion.

How Shipping Option Visibility Works

When creating or editing a shipping option:

  • Navigate to Settings → Shipping Options.

  • Create a new shipping method or modify an existing one.

  • Choose the visibility setting:

    • Internal Only

    • Customer Portal Only

    • Internal + Customer Portal (Default)

  • Save your changes.

Your selections instantly determine where each shipping option will appear.
This means:

  • Internal users only see internal-safe options.

  • Customers only see customer-appropriate options.

  • Both groups see options marked “Default.”

This keeps each ordering environment clean, simple, and accurate.

2. Shipping Options in Internal Orders vs. Customer Portal

Once visibility is configured:

Internal Orders See:

  • Internal shipping methods

  • Default (both) shipping methods

Options marked “Customer Only” remain hidden internally.

Customer Portal Orders See:

  • Customer shipping methods

  • Default (both) shipping methods

Customers will never see internal-only options, preventing mistakes or misuse of internal shipping choices.

This ensures every order is submitted with accurate and appropriate delivery details.

3. New Feature: Require Customers to Select a Shipping Option

Another major improvement is the ability to require shipping selection for customer-submitted orders. This prevents customers from completing an order without choosing how the job should be delivered.

How to Enable Required Shipping Options

  • Go to Settings → Shipping Settings.

  • Enable Require Shipping Option for Customers.

  • Save the setting.

How It Affects Orders

  • Customers must choose a shipping option during checkout.

  • A red asterisk (*) appears in the customer portal to indicate the field is mandatory.

  • Customers cannot proceed without making a selection.

  • Internal users remain unaffected — shipping is optional for internal orders.

This update improves order accuracy and eliminates incomplete customer submissions.

4. Why These Shipping Updates Matter

These new features give print shops:

✔ Better workflow control

Manage internal-only shipping methods without exposing them to customers.

✔ Cleaner customer portal experience

Customers see only the shipping options you want them to see.

✔ Reduced errors and missing information

Requiring shipping selection ensures every order includes delivery details.

✔ Faster and more accurate internal processing

With proper visibility settings, staff only interact with shipping options relevant to their process.

These enhancements were designed to give print shops the clarity and flexibility needed to run a more efficient operation.
