Running a busy print shop means juggling multiple orders, managing quantities, and keeping production on track. That’s why InfoFlo Print’s latest split job feature updates are such a game-changer.

In this post, we’ll walk through everything you need to know about:

  • Automatically splitting line items when order quantities change

  • Merging extra quantities into existing jobs

  • Managing multiple split jobs efficiently

  • Viewing and updating docket fields directly on invoices

By the end, you’ll see how these updates make life a little easier for your team—and help you avoid duplicate jobs and messy workflows.

Automatically Create Split Jobs When Quantities Change

Previously, every time you adjusted an order quantity, the system would create a new split job. That worked for some shops, but it caused headaches for many print shops that don’t need multiple splits.

Now, with the updated split job feature:

  • The system creates a new split job only if no active jobs exist for that product

  • Extra quantities are merged into existing jobs whenever possible

Example:

  • Original order: 10 units → split into 5 + 5

  • Add 1 more unit → merged into one of the existing jobs instead of creating a new split job

This keeps your production list cleaner and reduces unnecessary job entries.

Manage Split Jobs Easily

The new feature also makes it simple to manage existing split jobs:

  • Remove unnecessary splits if quantities change

  • Keep production tracking accurate

  • Ensure consistent workflow for multiple line items

No more confusion from duplicate split entries, and your team saves time by keeping everything organized.

Merge Extra Quantities into Existing Jobs

Instead of creating a new job every time you add units:

  • Add the quantity to an existing line item

  • Click Update

  • The system merges it into an active job

A new split job is only created if no active jobs exist. This approach keeps your order list neat and prevents unnecessary duplication.

View Docket Fields Directly on Invoices

Another handy update lets you see docket fields directly on the invoice page.

How to enable:

  • Go to Settings → Docket Settings

  • Enable “Show Docket Fields on Invoices”

  • Expand invoices to view and update docket info

Now your team can track job details without jumping back and forth between screens—perfect for busy shops handling multiple orders at once.

Why This Split Job Feature Matters

The updated split job feature helps your print shop:

  • Automate job splitting when quantities change

  • Merge extra quantities efficiently

  • Maintain clean, accurate production tracking

  • View docket fields directly on invoices

It’s a small update, but it saves time, reduces errors, and keeps your workflow organized—letting you focus on producing great work instead of chasing duplicate jobs.
